if you wish to have a little mini map mod on minecraft this should be a very simple how to guide to
help.

NOTE: GET REI MINIMAP FOR 1.3.2 OF MINECRAFT OR MINECRAFT 1.4
FOLLOW STEPS BELOW:

1. Download ModLoader, Rei's Minimap, and WinRAR archiver.
2. In your start menu, search "%appdata%", and press ENTER
3. Click on ".minecraft"
4. Click on "bin"
5. Right click on "minecraft" (or minecraft.jar) and open with WinRAR archiver.
6. DELETE "META-INF"
7. Drag all your files from ModLoader and Rei's Minimap into your "minecraft" (or minecraft.jar"
8. Close everything and enjoy your mod!

NOTE: dont download stuff from the links in the information section on youtube, (TRUST THE REAL SITES)

i believe that can slow down the launching of minecraft and joining/loading of servers and worlds.
I recommend you just delete the 2 certificates inside it and leave the manifest.
You don't haft to, but it just makes things work faster.
im not 100% sure but i beleve the manifest assist java in finding certain parts of the minecraft code or something.

in other words
delete "MOJANG_C.SF" and "MOJANG_C.DSA" inside the "META-INF" folder inside minecraft.jar for faster loading

I thought it rebuilt the meta files anyways? If thats the case the delayed load should only be on first load after the mod install. If that's the case it would possibly be better to allow it to do that to ensure a proper file system for the "build" of minecraft the player has.

I know this topic was active a long time ago but when
I try to delete the META-INF folder it says : The archive is corrupt.

I don't understand how you guys can do it all fine.
Also this mod IS allowed on the server? Is that correct?

Is minecraft open when you try to delete it? Sounds as if it is.

Thx for the instructions left.... But still i do not know since this is a School Laptop/Netbook and i cannot find %appdata% which is a pain....

so it seems i cannot install any mods which is a pain but the only way I can install mods is eather on Technic Launcher or Magic Launcher Thx for your help anyway and i appreciate your help...

if u run on windows use the start button (on the key bored) wich u'll find next to the Fn button then holed the windows start button and click R at same time a little window will pop up and tpye %appdata% then got to .minecraft then do what left sed
